About AMLA

Hello
I've called Iowa home my entire life. Growing up on an acreage near West Des Moines gave me an appreciation for the diverse landscapes that shape our communities—from native prairies and woodlands to thoughtfully designed parks and neighborhoods. That early connection to the land, combined with my passion for working outdoors and creative problem-solving, naturally led me to the profession of landscape architecture.

Before AMLA
I earned a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture from Iowa State University in 2012 and have since built more than a decade of experience designing, estimating, and managing landscape projects throughout Iowa and the Midwest. My career has spanned residential, commercial, municipal, and institutional work, giving me a well-rounded understanding of both design and construction.
I began my professional career with Perficut, where I developed conceptual landscape designs, prepared construction drawings using AutoCAD and SketchUp, estimated projects, coordinated with clients, and participated in site visits and construction meetings. During this time, I contributed to notable projects including the Prairie Meadows Entry Walk and multiple subdivision monument signage projects for the City of Ankeny.
After expanding my estimating experience with Alpha Landscapes, I joined Ever Greene Sodding & Landscaping, where I continued designing, estimating, and overseeing residential and commercial landscape projects from concept through implementation.
I further advanced my public-sector design experience at Snyder & Associates, creating detailed landscape plans using Civil 3D, SketchUp, Lumion, and Adobe Illustrator. My responsibilities included site analysis, ordinance research, planting inventories, client coordination, and construction administration. I contributed to numerous high-profile municipal and institutional projects, including the Ankeny 18th and 36th Street Intersection Landscape Improvements, NE Delaware Avenue Landscape Improvements, Fort Dodge Riverside Improvements, I-80 Rest Area Improvements, On With Life Campus Expansion, City of Omaha Parking Structure Landscape Improvements, and the Polk City Hall project.
Most recently, with Wiges Outdoor Services, I combined landscape architecture with estimating and project coordination, producing detailed CAD drawings, photorealistic renderings, project estimates, and construction-ready designs for a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial clients.
Throughout my career, I have developed expertise in landscape architecture, site planning, construction documentation, project estimating, client communication, and construction coordination. I am passionate about creating practical, innovative, and visually compelling landscapes that balance functionality, sustainability, and budget while delivering exceptional value to clients.
